Sono già disponibili o in preparazione altri Brevetti su numerosi altri argomenti come: agricoltura, biodiversità, cambiamento climatico, energia, foreste, fame, nutrizione ed oceani e suolo. Il Brevetto Acqua è stato creato per illustrare il ruolo fondamentale svolto dall’acqua per la vita sul nostro pianeta, nonché per il benessere umano. La pubblicazione fa riflettere sui diversi fattori umani che incidono sulle risorse idriche, suggerisce soluzioni su come utilizzare l’acqua più efficacemente e motiva i giovani a non sprecarla, impegnandosi in iniziative che mirano a migliorare un equo accesso all’acqua potabile.

Il Brevetto Foreste è stato creato per aiutare a educare i bamb ini e i giovani sul ruolo vitale che le foreste hanno nella salvaguardia della vita sulla Terra. Questo opuscolo contiene informazioni di base sui diversi tipi di foresta e sul loro habitat. Spiega come le foreste forniscano sistemi di servizi ecologici ed essenziali come aria pulita, acqua e mitigazione del cambiamento climatico. Descrive, inoltre, le diverse risorse della foresta e spiega come milioni di persone in tutto il mondo si affidino alle foreste per la propria sussistenza. Il Brevetto descrive le minacce per le nostre foreste e illustra le misure prese per la loro protezione. Questo materiale è adatto per l’uso in classe, con gli Scout o a incontri giovanili in generale. Comprende una vasta gamma di attività e idee per stimolare l’apprendimento riguardo l’importanza delle foreste e allo stesso tempo motivare i bambini e i giovani ad aiutare a proteggere le foreste e diventare consapevoli delle conseguenze delle loro azioni sull’ambiente.

Il Brevetto Oceano vuole informare i bambini e i giovani sul ruolo vitale del mare nella vita sulla Terra. Il Brevetto considera il modo in cui le persone vivono, esplorano e usano le spiagge, i litorali, i mari e i prodotti ittici, spiegando gli effetti che un determinato comportamento ha sull’ambiente marino e propone, parallelamente, delle idee affinché ciascuno entri in azione contribuendo a rendere più sostenibile questo rapporto così importante.

Urbanization, agrifood systems transformation and healthy diets across the rural–urban continuum
2023This report provides an update on global progress towards the targets of ending hunger (SDG Target 2.1) and all forms of malnutrition (SDG Target 2.2) and estimates on the number of people who are unable to afford a healthy diet. Since its 2017 edition, this report has repeatedly highlighted that the intensification and interaction of conflict, climate extremes and economic slowdowns and downturns, combined with highly unaffordable nutritious foods and growing inequality, are pushing us off track to meet the SDG 2 targets. However, other important megatrends must also be factored into the analysis to fully understand the challenges and opportunities for meeting the SDG 2 targets. One such megatrend, and the focus of this year’s report, is urbanization. New evidence shows that food purchases in some countries are no longer high only among urban households but also among rural households. Consumption of highly processed foods is also increasing in peri-urban and rural areas of some countries. These changes are affecting people’s food security and nutrition in ways that differ depending on where they live across the rural–urban continuum. This timely and relevant theme is aligned with the United Nations General Assembly-endorsed New Urban Agenda, and the report provides recommendations on the policies, investments and actions needed to address the challenges of agrifood systems transformation under urbanization and to enable opportunities for ensuring access to affordable healthy diets for everyone. -

Repurposing food and agricultural policies to make healthy diets more affordable
2022This year’s report should dispel any lingering doubts that the world is moving backwards in its efforts to end hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition in all its forms. We are now only eight years away from 2030, but the distance to reach many of the SDG 2 targets is growing wider each year. There are indeed efforts to make progress towards SDG 2, yet they are proving insufficient in the face of a more challenging and uncertain context. The intensification of the major drivers behind recent food insecurity and malnutrition trends (i.e. conflict, climate extremes and economic shocks) combined with the high cost of nutritious foods and growing inequalities will continue to challenge food security and nutrition. This will be the case until agrifood systems are transformed, become more resilient and are delivering lower cost nutritious foods and affordable healthy diets for all, sustainably and inclusively. -

A report by the High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition
2023The report “Reducing inequalities for food security and nutrition” has been developed by the High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE-FSN) following the request by the United Nations Committee on World Food Security (CFS) as included in its Programme of Work (MYPoW 2020-2023). In particular, the CFS requested the HLPE-FSN to develop a report to: (i) analyse evidence relating to how inequalities in access to assets (particularly land, other natural resources and finance) and in incomes within food systems impede opportunities for many actors to overcome food insecurity and malnutrition; (ii) analyse the drivers of inequalities and provide recommendations on entry points to address these; and (iii) identify areas requiring further research and data collection. This report will inform the ensuing CFS thematic workstream on inequalities, aiming at addressing the root causes of food insecurity with a focus on those “most affected by hunger and malnutrition”.
