2005The FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius Commission is the unique United Nations body responsible for establishing international food standards aimed at protecting the health of consumers and ensuring fair practices in the food trade. The food standards, codes of practice and other guidelines and recommendations adopted by the Commission form the Codex Alimentarius: the international food code. The Codex Alimentarius Commission envisages a world afforded the highest attainable levels of consumer protectio n, including food safety and quality. The 28th Session, held from 4 to 9 July 2005, adopted a number of new or revised standards and related texts as well as several amendments to the Rules of Procedure, pursuant to the process of reform of its structure and procedures to meet the increased expectations of governments and stakeholders for increased efficiency and relevance of its work. This is the report of that meeting, adopted by the Commission itself on its closing day. It includes a full l ist of all participants and a list of all the standards and related texts adopted by the Commission.

التمويل من أجل القضاء على الجوع وانعدام الأمن الغذائي وسوء التغذية بجميع أشكاله
2024إذ تفصلنا ستّ سنوات عن سنة 2030، لا تسير اتجاهات الجوع وانعدام الأمن الغذائي بالاتجاه الصحيح لوضع حدّ للجوع ولانعدام الأمن الغذائي (المقصد 2-1 من أهداف التنمية المستدامة) بحلول عام 2030. وتشير بدورها مؤشرات التقدم باتجاه تحقيق المقاصد الخاصة بالتغذية في العالم إلى انحرافها عن مسار القضاء على جميع أشكال سوء التغذية (المقصد 2-2 من أهداف التنمية المستدامة). ولا يزال مليارات الأشخاص يفتقرون إلى الأغذية المغذية والمأمونة والكافية. غير أنّ التقدم المحرز في العديد من البلدان يبعث الأمل في إمكانية العودة إلى المسار الصحيح لإنهاء الجوع وسوء التغذية.ويتطلّب تنفيذ السياسات والاستثمارات والتشريعات اللازمة لعكس الاتجاهات الحالية للجوع وانعدام الأمن الغذائي وسوء التغذية توفر التمويل الكافي للأمن الغذائي والتغذية. ورغم الإجماع الواسع بشأن الحاجة الملحة إلى زيادة التمويل للأمن الغذائي والتغذية، تختلف الأوضاع بالنسبة إلى الفهم المشترك لكيفية تحديد هذا التمويل وتتبّعه. ويقدم هذا التقرير تعريفًا طال انتظاره للتمويل من أجل الأمن الغذائي والتغذية ويعطي توجيهات بشأن تنفيذه.وثمة توصيات بشأن كفاءة استخدام أدوات التمويل المبتكرة والإصلاحات في هيكل تمويل الأمن الغذائي والتغذية. ويعدّ وضع تعريف مشترك للتمويل من أجل الأمن الغذائي والتغذية، وطرق تتبعه وقياسه وتنفيذه، خطوة أولى هامة باتجاه العمل بشكل مستدام على زيادة تدفقات التمويل اللازمة لوضع حد للجوع وانعدام الأمن الغذائي وجميع أشكال سوء التغذية ولضمان حصول الجميع على أنماط غذائية صحية، حاضرًا ومستقبلًا. -

The glossary has been compiled in English using existing textbooks and glossaries, in particular those already prepared within the various Services of the Organization, namely the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department and the Agriculture and Consumer Protection Department. Therefore it has been validated by international experts and translated into f our FAO official languages. The glossary contains over 2 500 terms and definitions. The Glossary of Aquaculture is available in hard copy, CD-ROM and online at the FAO Web site.
