2024Las Naciones Unidas declararon el año 2024 Año Internacional de los Camélidos. Su celebración pondrá de manifiesto que los camélidos son un recurso de subsistencia clave para millones de hogares de más de 90 países. Los camélidos, que comprenden desde las alpacas hasta los camellos bactrianos, dromedarios, guanacos, llamas y vicuñas, contribuyen a la seguridad alimentaria, a la nutrición y al crecimiento económico, además de poseer una gran relevancia cultural para muchas comunidades de todo el mundo. El Año Internacional de los Camélidos (2024) pretende concienciar sobre el potencial no explotado de estas especies y hacer un llamamiento a aumentar las inversiones en el sector de los camélidos, abogando por que se investigue más, se desarrollen capacidades y se adopten prácticas y tecnologías innovadoras. El manual y conjunto de herramientas de comunicación del Año Internacional de los Camélidos proporciona antecedentes sobre los objetivos, el lema, el tema, los hechos, los mensajes clave, los llamados a la acción y la identidad visual del Año Internacional del Año, además de solicitar la presentación de historias de interés humano, proporcionar un conjunto de herramientas de comunicación y resaltar formas de participar en las celebraciones del Año Internacional de los Camélidos. -

No results found.At request of the government, a joint FAO/WFP rapid Food Security Assessment Mission (rFSA) visited DPRK from 29 March to 12 April 2019. The overall objective of the joint FAO/WFP mission was to conduct an independent assessment of the 2018 production shortfall and the food security situation in the country. Provision of accurate, timely and credible information through this exercise is critical to inform appropriate interventions by the government, the international community, and others to mitigate the impact of the reported drops in harvest output. -

The aim of the Atlas is to raise awareness about the significance of soil to life in Asia among a wide range of audiences, including the general public, decision makers, politicians, teachers, and scientists from other disciplines. The Atlas comprises a series of annotated maps that demonstrate the diversity of soil characteristics across Asia in an easy-to-understand manner. It also explains how soils are formed, the key factors that shape soil characteristics, and why these vary across the continent. Moreover, the Atlas emphasizes the role of soils in shaping our daily lives and highlights the growing pressures on soils resulting from urban expansion, inappropriate land management, pollution, increased demand for food, and climate change. The Atlas encourages people to understand how their actions can help protect and restore soils while reducing degradation processes.
