Опыт предыдущих кризисов показывает, что отказ от определенных ограничительных мер в торговле может сыграть не менее важную роль, чем предоставление прямой поддержки производителям и потребителям в той или иной форме. С учетом этого следование международным рекомендациям о создании безопасных коридоров для поездок и торговли может содействовать функционированию агропродовольственных товаропроводящих цепочек, смягчению последствий перебоев в поставке продовольственных товаров и обеспечению продовольственной безопасности.

ФАО призывает партнеров общими силами не допустить возникновения глобальной чрезвычайной ситуации с продовольствием. Пандемия COVID-19 поставила под угрозу здоровье человека и функционирование продовольственных систем как основы для поддержания здоровья. Если не принять срочных мер, мы можем столкнуться с самой тяжелой и масштабной глобальной чрезвычайной ситуацией с продовольствием за более чем полвека. Продовольственная и сельскохозяйственная организация Объединенных Наций (ФАО) призывает выделить 1,3 миллиарда долларов США в качестве первоначальных инвестиций для финансирования гибких и скоординированных глобальных ответных мер по обеспечению каждого человека питательными продовольствием как во время, так и после пандемии. Программа ответных мер и восстановления в связи с COVID-19 позволит донорам задействовать организационный потенциал ФАО и использовать получаемые ею данные в режиме реального времени, системы раннего предупреждения и технический опыт для оказания непосредственной поддержки там, где она необходима больше всего. Вместе мы сможем помочь наиболее уязвимым странам мира, в том числе в решении таких вопросов, как предотвращение дальнейших кризисов, повышение невосприимчивости к внешним факторам, ускорение восстановления и устойчивое преобразование наших продовольственных систем.

However, less attention is being paid to the biodiversity beneath our feet, soil biodiversity, which drives many processes that produce food or purify soil and water. This report is the result of an inclusive process involving more than 300 scientists from around the world under the auspices of the FAO’s Global Soil Partnership and its Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative, and the European Commission. It presents concisely the state of knowledge on soil biodiversity, the threats to it, and the solutions that soil biodiversity can provide to problems in different fields. It also represents a valuable contribution to raising awareness of the importance of soil biodiversity and highlighting its role in finding solutions to today's global threats.
