This fact sheet presents FISH4ACP's efforts to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the Atlantic seabob fishery in Guyana. FISH4ACP, an initiative of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (OACPS), aims to improve the economic, social and environmental sustainability of fisheries and aquaculture value chains in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific, In Guyana, local demand for fish products is expected to rise as a consequence of emerging oil and gas production. FISH4ACP aims to ensure that economic improvements go hand in hand with environmental sustainability and social inclusiveness. FISH4CP is implemented by FAO with funding from the European Union. -

FISH4ACP, an initiative of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (OACPS) that aims to improves the economic, social, and environmental sustainability of fisheries and aquaculture value chains in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific, aims to stimulate sustainable growth of the Nile tilapia sector in Côte d'Ivoire. Nile tilapia represents a source of affordable and safe supply of animal protein, while a stronger tilapia value chain can create jobs and provide an income for the rural population. FISH4CP is implemented by FAO with funding from the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). -

No results found.This qualitative study was developed under the Empowering women and boosting livelihoods through agricultural trade: Leveraging the AfCFTA programme, co-implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Trade Centre (ITC). It seeks to assess gender dynamics along the fisheries and aquaculture value chains in Ghana and Nigeria, focusing particularly on women’s roles, barriers and trade potential. This report also provides gender-specific recommendations to address the identified challenges and enhance women’s trade potential in the selected regional value chain in Ghana and Nigeria.
