2025El compromiso de Ghana con la gestión forestal sostenible y la acción por el clima se ha visto reforzado por la evaluación de sus necesidades y carencias. La aplicación de la herramienta de evaluación del sistema nacional de monitoreo forestal (SNMF) ha sido fundamental en este proceso. Desarrollada por el equipo de Plataformas de Datos y Monitoreo Forestal de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura (FAO), esta herramienta integral permite evaluar las capacidades y necesidades del SNMF, ayudando a Ghana a priorizar acciones que se alineen tanto con los objetivos nacionales como con los compromisos climáticos internacionales.Desarrollado en el marco del proyecto «Fomento de la capacidad global para aumentar la transparencia en el sector forestal» (CBIT-Forest), financiado por el Fondo Fiduciario de la Iniciativa de Fomento de Capacidad para la Transparencia (CBIT, por sus siglas en inglés) del Fondo para el Medio Ambiente Mundial (FMAM), y el programa «Acelerando el monitoreo innovador de los bosques» (AIM4Forests, siglas en inglés) financiado por el Departamento por la Seguridad Energética y Cero Neto del Reino Unido de Gran Bretaña e Irlanda del Norte.

No results found.There is increasing attention to the importance of biodiversity for food security and nutrition, especially above-ground biodiversity such as plants and animals. However, less attention is being paid to the biodiversity beneath our feet, soil biodiversity, which drives many processes that produce food or purify soil and water. This report is the result of an inclusive process involving more than 300 scientists from around the world under the auspices of the FAO’s Global Soil Partnership and its Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative, and the European Commission. It presents concisely the state of knowledge on soil biodiversity, the threats to it, and the solutions that soil biodiversity can provide to problems in different fields. It also represents a valuable contribution to raising awareness of the importance of soil biodiversity and highlighting its role in finding solutions to today's global threats. -
