    This report presents the results of the value chain analysis of the Lake Tanganyika sprat, sardine and perch value chain in The United Republic of Tanzania conducted from 2021-2022 by the value chain development programme FISH4ACP. This report contains a functional analysis of the value chain, assesses its sustainability and resilience, develops an upgrading strategy and an implementation plan to which FISH4ACP will contribute. FISH4ACP is an initiative of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) aimed at making fisheries and aquaculture value chains in twelve OACPS member countries more sustainable. It contributes to food and nutrition security, economic prosperity and job creation by ensuring the economic, social and environmental sustainability of fisheries and aquaculture in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. FISH4ACP is implemented by FAO with funding from the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

    Ce rapport présente les résultats de l’analyse de la chaîne de valeur du sprat, de la sardine et de la perche du lac Tanganyika en République-Unie de Tanzanie menée de 2021 à 2022 par le programme FISH4ACP. Ce rapport contient une analyse fonctionnelle de la chaîne de valeur, évalue sa durabilité et sa résilience, élabore une stratégie de mise à niveau et un plan de mise en oeuvre auquel FISH4ACP contribuera. FISH4ACP est une initiative de l’Organisation des États d’Afrique, des Caraïbes et du Pacifique (OACPS) visant à rendre plus durables les chaînes de valeur de la pêche et de l’aquaculture dans douze pays membres de l’OACPS. Il contribue à la sécurité alimentaire et nutritionnelle, à la prospérité économique et à la création d’emplois en assurant la durabilité économique, sociale et environnementale de la pêche et de l’aquaculture en Afrique, dans les Caraïbes et dans le Pacifique. FISH4ACP est mis en oeuvre par l’Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO), et financé par l’Union européenne (UE) et le ministère fédéral allemand de la coopération économique et du développement (BMZ).
