Ce rapport présente les résultats de l’analyse de la chaîne de valeur du sprat, de la sardine et de la perche du lac Tanganyika en République-Unie de Tanzanie menée de 2021 à 2022 par le programme FISH4ACP. Ce rapport contient une analyse fonctionnelle de la chaîne de valeur, évalue sa durabilité et sa résilience, élabore une stratégie de mise à niveau et un plan de mise en oeuvre auquel FISH4ACP contribuera. FISH4ACP est une initiative de l’Organisation des États d’Afrique, des Caraïbes et du Pacifique (OACPS) visant à rendre plus durables les chaînes de valeur de la pêche et de l’aquaculture dans douze pays membres de l’OACPS. Il contribue à la sécurité alimentaire et nutritionnelle, à la prospérité économique et à la création d’emplois en assurant la durabilité économique, sociale et environnementale de la pêche et de l’aquaculture en Afrique, dans les Caraïbes et dans le Pacifique. FISH4ACP est mis en oeuvre par l’Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO), et financé par l’Union européenne (UE) et le ministère fédéral allemand de la coopération économique et du développement (BMZ). -

No results found.Value chain development can make significant contributions to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) because it is a powerful approach to address root causes and binding constraints that impede the sustainable development of food value chains. The first step in value chain development is selecting those value chains that, when upgraded, can have the biggest SDG impact. This publication provides practical guidelines on how to select value chains for which upgrading is feasible and impactful in terms of the potential for generating positive economic, social and environmental outcomes. The handbook describes a step-by-step process that helps to assess, compare and select value chains in a participatory and evidence-based manner. It presents a toolbox that can be customized to projects with different budgets, scopes and objectives. This publication forms part of a set of FAO handbooks on Sustainable Food Value Chain (SFVC) development, which together provide hands-on guidance for development practitioners, including international organizations, NGOs, regional bodies and national governments seeking to achieve sustainability objectives through agrifood value chain development projects. -

No results found.Improving the availability, affordability, and convenience of nutritious foods is at the heart of FAO's efforts to transform agrifood systems in support of human and planetary health. As main food suppliers, agrifood small and medium enterprises (SMEs) play a critical role in this endeavor. This training package spans across range of topics - from healthy diets to food safety management, from foods processing and its impact on nutrition, to marketing and agribusiness management - to support agrifood SMEs to integrate a “nutrition perspective” in their business models and practices. The present facilitator guide is the entry point to the training package and includes a set of handouts, and links to two questionnaires to tailor the program to participants needs, and ten PowerPoint presentations to be used in training sessions for agrifood SMEs.
