Mediante la adopción de la Ley sobre inocuidad de los alimentos de 2010 y sus instrumentos subordinados, el Gobierno estableció el marco de los mecanismos y las estructuras necesarios para logar una gestión moderna de la inocuidad de los alimentos; no obstante, la mejora seguía siendo lenta. Por lo tanto, era preciso examinar la legislación, los procedimientos y la estructura existentes relativos a la gestión de la inocuidad de los alimentos en el país, y formular recomendaciones para reestructurar las agencias y las instituciones pertinentes.

No results found.In recognition of the importance of multidimensional food and nutrition security and poverty reduction, the Government of Viet Nam has approved two National Target Programmes ( focusing on New Rural Development ( and Sustainable Poverty Reduction ( with a total budget of around USD 11 billion The ultimate goal of these programmes is to improve the living standards of poor and rural communities The NTP NRD focuses on rural development in almost 9 000 communes throughout the country, in line with the Agriculture Restructuring Plan at all levels, while SPR targets areas in which to reduce poverty One of the most important tasks faced by the Government of Viet Nam is to produce a harmonized policy system among the two NTPs, with a view to mass and market oriented agricultural production The present Technical Cooperation Programme ( project was implemented with the aim of facilitating this process Its expected outcomes were as follows i increase the income of the rural poor through a harmonized policy design in support of the two NTPs in line with the Agriculture Restructuring Plan at all levels and ( stronger linkages among farmers and between farmers and enterprises in a consistent production system with recognized standards. -

No results found.Between March and April 2019, many cases of suspected food poisoning were reported by health care workers in the Karamoja region of the Republic of Uganda. Consumption of food products that had high levels of tropane alkaloids was identified as the cause. This group of compounds occur in several plant genera that belong to the Solanaceae family and can contaminate staples like cereals and grains. Given the absence of international guidance and regulations, a Joint FAO/WHO Expert Meeting on Tropane Alkaloids was convened remotely between 30 March – 3 April 2020. This publication captures the discussions of the expert meeting and provides risks assessments of tropane alkaloids (hyoscyamine and scopolamine) as well as recommendations outlining appropriate risk management options. -
