Directrices sobre los Plaguicidas Altamente Peligrosos 2019El hecho de que algunos plaguicidas son más peligrosos que otros está bien comprobado. El reconocimiento de esto se refleja en la Clasificación Recomendada de Plaguicidas según su Peligrosidad de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), que fue publicado por primera vez en 1975. El documento clasifica los plaguicidas en una de cinco clases de peligro en función de su toxicidad aguda. En 2002, se introdujo el Sistema Globalmente Armonizado de Clasificación y Etiquetado de Productos Químicos (SGA), que además de la toxicidad aguda también proporciona clasificación de productos químicos en función de sus peligros crónicos para la salud y los peligros ambientales.

Código Internacional de Conducta sobre la Distribución y Utilización de Plaguicidas
2010Estas directrices apuntan a: suministrar información a los gobiernos y a la industria de plaguicidas para complementar el Artículo 11 (Publicidad) del Código de Conducta, considerando a la vez la auto-regulación y las medidas legales, de manera a garantizar el cumplimiento y las mejores prácticas; sugerir un marco para el monitoreo de la publicidad de plaguicidas, e indicar los pasos a seguir cuando se constatan incumplimientos a la legislación nacional o no-observancia del Código de Conducta; r ecomendar las mejores prácticas publicitarias, de manera a garantizar el respeto del Código de Conducta y el cumplimiento de la pertinente legislación nacional. Estas directrices están principalmente destinadas a las instituciones gubernamentales responsables de la distribución y la venta de plaguicidas, y de los estándares comerciales en la agricultura, la salud pública y otras situaciones de uso de los plaguicidas. Son recomendaciones y apuntan a no entrar en conflicto con las leyes y reglamen tos existentes. Las directrices también brindan orientaciones para la industria de plaguicidas, las asociaciones comerciales, aquellos que desarrollan materiales publicitarios o promocionales para los productos plaguicidas, las organizaciones de interés público que monitorean la venta y distribución de plaguicidas, y otras terceras partes interesadas.

However, less attention is being paid to the biodiversity beneath our feet, soil biodiversity, which drives many processes that produce food or purify soil and water. This report is the result of an inclusive process involving more than 300 scientists from around the world under the auspices of the FAO’s Global Soil Partnership and its Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative, and the European Commission. It presents concisely the state of knowledge on soil biodiversity, the threats to it, and the solutions that soil biodiversity can provide to problems in different fields. It also represents a valuable contribution to raising awareness of the importance of soil biodiversity and highlighting its role in finding solutions to today's global threats. -

No results found.The FAOSTAT emissions database is composed of several data domains covering the categories of the IPCC Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector of the national GHG inventory. Energy use in agriculture is additionally included as relevant to emissions from agriculture as an economic production sector under the ISIC A statistical classification, though recognizing that, in terms of IPCC, they are instead part of the Energy sector of the national GHG inventory. FAO emissions estimates are available over the period 1961–2018 for agriculture production processes from crop and livestock activities. Land use emissions and removals are generally available only for the period 1990–2019. This analytical brief focuses on overall trends over the period 2000–2018. -
