المرأة في قطاع الزراعة - سد الفجوة بين الجنسين من أجل التنمية
2011تقدم المرأة مساهمات هامة في الاقتصاد الريفي في جميع أقاليم البلدان النامية. وتختلف أدوارها باختلاف الأقاليم، بيد أن حصولها على الموارد والفرص التي تحتاج إليها لكي تكون أكثر إنتاجاً أقل من حصول الرجل على تلك الموارد و الفرص. وزيادة حصول المرأة على الأراضي والثروة الحيوانية والتعليم والخدمات المالية والإرشاد والتكنولوجيا والعمالة الريفية من شأنها أن تعزز إنتاجيتها وتحقق مكاسب من حيث الإنتاج الزراعي والأمن الغذائي والنمو الاقتصادي والرفاه الاجتماعي. وسد الفجوة بين الجنسين في ما يتعلق بالمدخلات الز راعية وحدها يمكن أن ينتشل ما يتراوح من 100 مليون شخص إلى 150مليون شخص من براثن الجوع. ولا يوجد مخطط عام لسد الفجوة بين الجنسين، ولكن بعض المبادئ الأساسية عالمية، وهي: أن على الحكومات والمجتمع الدولي والمجتمع المدني العمل سوياً للقضاء على التمييز القائم بمقتضى القانون، وتحقيق المساواة في الحصول على الموارد والفرص لكفالة أن تكون السياسات والبرامج الزراعية على وعي بقضايا الفوارق بين الجنسين وأن تجعل صوت المرأة مسموعاً باعتبارها شريكاً مع الرجل في ما يتعلق بتحقيق التنمية المستدامة. وتحقيق المساواة بين الجنسين وتمكين المرأة في قطاع الزراعة ليسا الشيء الصحيح الذي يجب القيام به فحسب، بل هو أيضاً أمر حاسم الأهمية بالنسبة للتنمية الزراعية وللأمن الغذائي. -

However, less attention is being paid to the biodiversity beneath our feet, soil biodiversity, which drives many processes that produce food or purify soil and water. This report is the result of an inclusive process involving more than 300 scientists from around the world under the auspices of the FAO’s Global Soil Partnership and its Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative, and the European Commission. It presents concisely the state of knowledge on soil biodiversity, the threats to it, and the solutions that soil biodiversity can provide to problems in different fields. It also represents a valuable contribution to raising awareness of the importance of soil biodiversity and highlighting its role in finding solutions to today's global threats. -

The Guidelines state that responsible investments should do no harm, safeguard against dispossession of legitimate tenure right holders and environmental damage, and should respect human rights. This technical guide on Respecting free, prior and informed consent (FPIC) sets out practical actions for government agencies to respect and protect FPIC and for civil society organizations, land users and private investors globally to comply with their responsibilities in relation to FPIC, as endorsed by the Guidelines. -
